About us
cXeCompany Development
CelluXtreme roots in the scientific enthusiasm that sprung from collaboration of KTH researchers in fluid mechanics and polymer chemistry at the Wallenberg Wood Science Center. Their question in 2010 – “can we control the elementary structure in spinning processes” -resulted into a technical breakthrough which enabled the manufacturing of high-performance reinforcement fibres from nanocellulose. The technology provides a significant step beyond state-of-the-art concerning viable technical solutions, using scalable, continuous and controllable processes for the assembly of nanomaterials. The patent for the technological novelty was readily awarded and is owned by CelluXtreme
Unique in every aspect, CelluXtreme industrial filament production space relies on suiting up and down-stream processes. RISE explored in 2015 what works and what not and CelluXtreme secured the intellectual property of viable routes. Scaling and automatizing the production, CelluXtreme composite production took off, with the manufacturing of first specimens for industrial application testing in 2023
2010
The Beginning
Researcher in fluid mechanics and polymer chemistry meet atKTH Royal Institute of Technology and the Wallenberg Wood Science Centre and design a process to engineer performance filaments from elementary cellulose. Born and patented was cXe’sspinning process
2015
The Exploration
RI.SE Research Institute of Sweden hired the PhD behind the invention, Karl Håkansson, and advanced the process by exploring needed utilities. Upstream, downstream and key-process; what works and what not took shape
2020

OUR MISSION
We believe that new material technology is an essential part of sustainable growth. Material solutions built on renewable and recyclable principles. We strive to offer high preforming materials with no negative impact on our earth.
By pioneering the technology of fiber spinning we want to enable our future customers to produce fossil free and recyclable high performing materials and products
Our goal is to contribute to the market with a material concept that can be produced in large volumes with such excellent properties and quality that more solutions can find their way to desired applications
These beliefs are the foundation that our business rests upon. We are convinced that material performance and efficiency walk hand in hand with sustainability and environment
